This week, we are highlighting traditional-looking cakes, but don’t think for a second that they are any less “wow” than their novelty friends. Many of us wanted 2020 to be canceled, but the year so far has proven that it has more important plans that must come to pass. All the brutality and racism, the lynching, the social ills, the inequalities and injustices faced by people of color in the past and present must not continue in the future. Enough of the temporary outrage, the lip service, everyone carrying on with their daily lives… partying, clubbing, shopping, traveling the world on vacations while the real issues are forgotten, swept under the rug, muted and ignored. We had to be stripped of our comforts with Covid-19 locking us down so that we have no other choice but to face what was next. George Floyd! He paid the ultimate sacrifice and his death will not be in vain. My heart aches everytime I hear his name. But one thing's for certain, and his daughter, Gianna said it "Daddy changed the world". 🕊️🙏🏾 We ALL have a role to play! Regardless of race, age, socioeconomic and financial status, religion, political affiliation or geographic location. We all have to speak up and stand up for what is right… and we have to do it together. 2020 isn't going to let up and let us get to 2021 without us going through the trials and tribulations necessary for change to happen. Change must happen! BLACK LIVES must MATTER before we can say All Lives Matter. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻✊ #blacklivesmatter #BLM
